Where to find us, how to get here, what happens when you arrive, and what it will cost.
What happens on your first visit
Most people have not done this before. Here is the whole of it.
- A doctor sees you first.Before any treatment starts, a doctor who specialises in recovery examines you and works out what is wrong. Nothing is decided before somebody has looked at you.
- You will be asked what you can and cannot do.Not just where it hurts — whether you can climb your stairs, sleep through the night, hold a cup. That is what the treatment is aimed at.
- Then a plan, explained to you.How many sessions, how often, and what should change. If you do not understand something, say so and it will be explained again.
Will it hurt?
Treatment should not be painful. Some of it is tiring, and a stiff joint can ache afterwards. Tell your therapist the moment something hurts — they will change what they are doing. You are never expected to endure it quietly.
What should I wear?
Loose clothes you can move in. If the problem is a knee or a shoulder, wear something that lets us reach it without you having to undress.
Do I need a referral?
If you have a referral or a prescription from a doctor, bring it. If you do not have one, ring us and ask before you travel — whether you need one depends on how you are paying.
How long will I be there?
Your first visit is registration and a consultation, and takes about one to three hours. The range is wide because it depends how many patients are ahead of you that day.
Therapy sessions after that are shorter — about forty-five minutes to an hour.
Ring us before you set off and we can tell you how many people are waiting. Please come at the time on your calling card, or a little before it.
Bring with you
- Your referral or prescription, if you have one
- Your HMO card and your Letter of Authorisation, if you are using an HMO
- Any X-ray or MRI results, even old ones
- A list of any medicines you take
What it will cost
If you have an HMO
Most of our patients pay nothing at the desk. Bring your card and your Letter of Authorisation, and your HMO is billed directly. Some plans leave a small amount for you to pay — the desk will tell you what it is before your session, not after.

Prices depend on which treatment the doctor decides you need, so we cannot put one number on a page honestly. What we can do is tell you on the phone, before you travel.
Ring (032) 254 4137, say what is wrong, and ask what a first visit will cost. Nobody will push you to book.
The first visit and the treatment after it are charged separately, because until the doctor has seen you, nobody knows what the treatment will be.

Where we are

We are on the whole ground floor of Chong Hua Medical Arts Building 2. There is no room number to look for — the ground floor is all ours.
The landmarks are easier than the address: we are behind Chong Hua Medical Mall, and beside the Chinese Fire Brigade. Most drivers know both.

Capitol Site is on several routes, and a jeepney is how most of our patients arrive. Ask the driver for Chong Hua Hospital — every driver in the city knows it, and the Medical Arts Building is beside it.
Parking
There is parking at the Medical Arts Building and around the hospital, and it is busiest in the morning. If you are bringing someone who cannot walk far, ring us before you set off and we will tell you the closest place to stop.
There is a drop-off point directly in front of the Rehab entrance, so somebody who cannot walk far can be left at the door.
The car park is immediately opposite. If that is full, there is more parking at Chong Hua Medical Mall.
Who to ask for
If a doctor sent you, ask for your rehabilitation doctor by name. If you are coming on your own, ask for Arlyn, the RehabMedics secretary.
